Listed on Informconf: what it means and how to get off it

Informconf is Paraguay's best-known credit risk bureau. What it means to be listed, how to check it, and the real steps to get off.

Data as of October 2026; the examples with amounts are hypothetical.

Amounts in this guide are in Paraguayan guaraníes (₲), because the data comes from Paraguay. In the calculator you can switch to dollars, euros or pounds.

Informconf is a Paraguayan company that collects financial information on individuals and businesses to build credit histories. It has operated since 1963 and, since 2013, is part of the international Equifax group. Banks, finance companies and retailers check this information before approving a loan, a card or an installment purchase.

What it means to be listed

You end up on Informconf if you took out credit and fell more than 90 days past due, and your creditor reported the debt. The minimum amount to be listed is ₲50,000. The debt doesn't need to be large to get you listed.

How to check if you're listed

  • At payment points: there are more than 10,000 across the country (Aquí Pago, Practipago, Pago Express, Wepa, among others). Ask for an "Informconf credit report", give your ID number, and pay a fee to get an access code. With that code and your ID, you log into Informconf's website.
  • Mobile Pay or e-wallet: available to users of some mobile carriers.
  • By phone: 0800 11 4636 (toll-free from a landline) or (021) 439-9000, option 2, Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

How to get off the list

  1. Pay the debt to the creditor who reported you. Informconf states it doesn't charge anything to remove debts: the payment always goes to your creditor, never to Informconf.
  2. Keep the payment receipt. Once the debt is settled, the record is updated.
  3. If it doesn't update on its own, you can request the update by sending the payment receipt to Equifax/Informconf.
  4. Watch out for the promissory note: if the debt document is still legally valid, a past-due account can be re-listed if it falls behind again.

How long does the record stay?

Paraguay's Law 6534 on Personal Data Protection (2020) states that data that could affect the person it refers to must not be kept for more than 5 years from the date of the events, unless a special rule sets a different period or the parties agree to a shorter one.

What happens while you're listed on Informconf

A negative report makes it harder to get approved for new loans, cards or installment purchases, since institutions check it as part of their evaluation. It doesn't stop you from working, opening a basic savings account or getting paid: the main effect is on access to new credit.

How to avoid ending up on Informconf

  • If you see you won't be able to make a payment, talk to your creditor before the due date, not after. Many offer refinancing or a payment plan.
  • Prioritize the debts closest to 90 days past due if you have several.
  • Use a method like the avalanche or snowball if you have more than one debt, to get organized before any of them hits serious default.

After paying, how long until it shows?

Paying the debt is the necessary step, but updating it across the systems of institutions that check your history can take time. If you urgently need credit after paying, bring the payment receipt in case you need to show it.

Get your debts in order before it's too late

In the debt calculator you can load all your debts and see which order to pay them in to finish sooner and avoid hitting 90 days past due.

Frequently asked questions

Does Informconf charge me to remove me from the list?

No. Payment always goes to your original creditor; Informconf doesn't charge to update or remove a paid debt.

Can I be listed on Informconf without knowing it?

Yes, it's possible if a small debt (from ₲50,000) went past due without you noticing. That's why it's worth checking your status from time to time.

What if a debt listed isn't mine?

File a claim directly with Informconf or the institution that reported the error, with your documentation ready.
